Glacier Bear
The Glacier Bear is a rare color phase of the Coastal Black Bear found only in the Southeast panhandle of Alaska. This color ranges from a slightly frosted black, to a steel blue-gray, with some being light gray, usually with a darker face.
The majority of all Glacier Bear are taken in the Yakutat area in the guide areas Wayne and I hold.
Coastal Black Bear
Safari Club has classified the Black Bear in our area a Coastal Black Bear. We hunt Coastal Black Bear and Glacier Bear from May until June 15th.
